PAINTING THE ROSES RED

She would gladly send
send the huntsman in
into the forest.
Taking out my heart
leaving me for dead
leaving me...

The Queen's way is always
and you'd better know it.
This woman--
she is why I fled.
Oh, she made me grovel
and paint the roses red.

Paint the roses red
Paint the roses red
That is what she said.
Painting roses red
till my hands have bled
I always liked the truth
but now the truth is dead.

Sent the dogs out to bring me back
To make some scarlet on my skin.
Queenie showed father
how I bleed every month
When you've had that fix once
you'll do it again.

That Stepford Wife would love to see
my head buried in my hands.
As miserable as she is, the smile never fades
Upon hearing of my demise
she'll be striking up the band

Maybe I can win her love this time
I'll do all that I can
Short of turning water into wine
it seems I've failed again
I'll run away, so far away
before I have to fall
Where the birds always sing
and the houses are big
but the men inside are small.

Leaves you hanging in the foyer
while she takes your love to bed
The Queen will make you harder
Make you paint those roses red..
